SOLON -- Browns great Bernie Kosar has entered a not guilty plea to charges of speeding and OVI.
Kosar's attorney faxed the plea to the court on his behalf. A pre-trial date has been set for December 9.
Kosar was charged after police pulled him over on U.S. Route 422 just east of SOM Center Road just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
The police officer reported a strong odor of alcohol. Solon police say an officer ran a series of field sobriety tests, which Kosar failed.
Kosar was then arrested and taken to the Solon Police Department with the intent to give him a Breathalyzer test. Police say Kosar refused to take the test.
Kosar posted bond and was released. He was the only person in the car.
Kosar was at FirstEnergy Stadium for the Browns-Bengals game. He declined to comment on the incident.
Kosar played quarterback for the Cleveland Browns from 1985 to 1993.
