CUYAHOGA COUNTY -- Secretary of State Jon Husted has appointed attorney and chairman of the Cuyahoga County Republican Party Rob Frost to the Cuayhoga County Board of Elections.

Frost will complete the unexpired term of Bay Village Mayor Debbie Sutherland.

She is up for reelection and is stepping aside to avoid possible conflicts with her campaign.

State law requires balanced bipartisan representation on county boards of election. Each board has two Republicans and two Democrats.

The Secretary of State makes the selections based on the recommendations of the executive committes of respective county political parties.

Frost was suggested by the county's Republican Party.

He formerly was on the board.  He joined it originally in 2007 and left in 2011 when he was considering a run for Congress.
