MEDINA COUNTY -- It's been a long time since an operating levy passed in the Black River Schools and now they are bracing for federal cuts.

The last time a levy passed was 1997 and, since then, 83 teachers have been cut and $5.3 million dollars cut.

"Next we may have to look at a shortened school day because we have cut almost all we can," says Superintendent Janice Wyckoff.

If the levy passes in May, it would mean $22 extra a month in property taxes for a $100,000 home.
