Try It: The 'Fullbar'

You eat the bar 30 minutes before a meal, along with about 16 ounces of water. The Fullbar is supposed to send that "full" signal to your brain. The theory is, in turn, you will eat less at mealtime.

Julie Hill is a member of our momslikeme "Try It" team. Julie agreed to give a box of the Fullbars a try.

The bars come in a number of flavors, including peanut butter, and apple crisp. Julie tried the cocoa crisp "chocolate" flavor.

She said the taste reminded her of cereal. She didn't mind the taste but wasn't wild about the calories, which were listed at 160 per bar.

Over several days, Julie tried the bars with breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It is recommended you eat the bars before two of your largest meals.

Julie tried breakfast and dinner one day, and lunch and dinner another.  She said the bar filled her up for breakfast, and helped temper her appetite a bit for lunch.

But at dinner, she didn't notice a difference at all.

Overall, Julie said she wasn't impressed, and would rather use the 160 calories on other food.  She gave the Fullbars 2 out of 5 stars.

We found the Fullbars at Walgreens, CVS and Walmart. Price for a box a six ranged from $8 to $10.
