Like most women, Marta wishes she could have longer, thicker lashes without all the extra work.
She says, "I usually do spend about 15 minutes doing my makeup, so it does take a little bit of time, and I always have to curl and put the mascara on."
She agreed to try L'Oreal's Double Extend Mascara, along with their Lash Boosting Serum, which claims to make lashes appear longer, thicker, and fuller in just four weeks.
Marta will use the Lash Boosting Serum at night, and the Double Extend Mascara with the serum as a primer every morning, for four weeks.
We checked in with Marta one month later to get the long and the short of it.
"I've been using both of the products for four weeks," Marta said. "I'm not completely happy with it. The serum was okay. It's kind of gooey, so your eye was kind of wet for a little bit. There were a couple of times when my eyes got a little irritated."
Marta liked the mascara on its own.
She explains, "The primer took too long to dry, and if you didn't let it dry and you put the mascara on, it was really clumpy. It's white. If you rub your eyelashes too much, it actually took the mascara off, and you could see your lashes that were white."
Marta thought the product only lived up to part of its claim.
"I feel like the serum didn't necessarily make my lashes longer, but I do feel like they've gotten a little thicker."
Out of five stars, Marta gave the L'Oreal Lash Serum two stars, the Double Extend Mascara 4 stars, and the primer that comes with it 1 and a half stars.
The L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum and Double Extend Mascara are available at Target for around $25 when purchased together.
