CLEVELAND -- Many Northeast Ohio families are struggling to put food on the table, and the process of getting assistance might seem like a daunting one.

But a new call center hopes to make it easier for families to get the help they need.

It's located at the Cleveland Foodbank, where WKYC's Joe Cronauer spent Wednesday morning to explain how to reach out for assistance.

If you're looking for help, you can reach the Cleveland Foodbank at 216-738-2067 or toll free at 1-855-738-2067.

A couple of things to know about qualifying for SNAP assistance:

  • You don't have to have children to receive help.
  • You can work while receiving benefits.
  • You are able to receive SNAP benefits when you receive Social Security Benefits.
And here's a breakdown of who qualifies based on their monthly income.
