Police said they arrested Matthew McMillen, the owner of Affordable Fence, after two picketers complained that McMillen had tried to run them over with his car on Monday.

Police said one victim reported that she and her mother were picketing on the sidewalk in front of the company Monday just before 1 p.m. when the owner drove a white jeep up onto the sidewalk in an alleged attempt to run her and her mother over.

Police had already been to the company at 11:50 a.m. Monday when they responded to a confrontation between the victim and the owner, police reported.

When police arrived the second time, the owner was gone upon the arrival of police.

The two victims stated that the owner had been driving westbound on Bagley and began to turn into the company driveway when he continued westbound along the tree lawn/sidewalk directly at them.

Both victims allege that they had to jump into the westbound lanes of Bagley to avoid being struck.

Further investigation of the second incident resulted in McMillen's arrest.
