CLEVELAND - High heat continued in northeast Ohio on Wednesday setting another new record high for Cleveland.

For a second day in a row, the mercury soared into the 90s across northern Ohio in advance of a cold front that will move through the area later tonight.

The National Weather Service says Cleveland set a new record high of 95 degrees at 4:03 p.m. this afternoon. The previous record for September 11th was 92 degrees set in 1952.

The Toledo Express Airport also tied and set a new record high of 95 degrees at 3:05 p.m. first seen in 1931.

WKYC Meteorologist Betsy Kling says the high heat of the past two days will come to abrupt end on Thursday when temperatures struggle to reach the mid 70s.
