  • CLEVELAND - Showers and thunderstorms brought flooding and damage to parts of northeast Ohio on Tuesday.

    Here is a look at the latest weather information coming into the Channel 3 Weather Center...

    10:00 a.m. -- The National Weather Service says a record rainfall of 2.41 inches was set at Cleveland on Tuesday, June 25. This breaks the old record of 1.86 set on this date in 1880.

    6:06 a.m. -- Hearing wires down in Chardon, behind the Subway restaurant

    6 a.m. -- Don't forget to check out traffic blog for the latest on road conditions this morning.

    3:18 a.m. -- Brooklyn: Ridge Road closed at Biddulph. Biddulph partially closed from Ridge to Roadoan. Check out our photo gallery of viewer-submitted pics to see some flooding in Brooklyn.

    2:30 a.m. -- Metroparks Rangers report the Valley Parkway is closed from Wooster to Puritas due to flooding. The river ford gates are closed throughout the parkway.

    1:24 a.m. -- FirstEnergy still reporting 20,304 customers without power across parts of northeast Ohio... Updates @ http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/oh.html

    1:18 a.m. -- A Flood Warning continues for Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Erie, Lorain, Tuscarawas and a Flood Advisory for Mahoning, Portage, Summit and Trumbull Counties.

    12:50 a.m. -- Power lines reported down on Pearl Road in Strongsville.

    12:46 a.m. -- Berea Police report flooding in areas throughout the city. No specific closures were provided.

    12:06 a.m. -- A 3 hour rain total of 2.6 inches in Parma.

    11:50 p.m. -- Nearly 4.5 inches of rain reported in Berea by NWS storm spotters.

    12:28 a.m. -- Valley View: Canal is closed from Rockside down to at least Stone for debris and wires down. No flooding though.

    11:30 p.m. - Radar estimates indicate 3 to 4 inches of rain may have fallen in some locations this evening and more rain is expected overnight.

    10:3 p.m. - 3/4 inch hail reported in Dover in Tuscarawas County.

    9:40 p.m -- RTA has restored Red Line Service between Puritas and Brookpark Road.  RTA Red Line service is still down between Brookpark Road and the airport. Replacement busses are running between Brookpark Road and the airport.

    9:30 pm. - Some trees and limbs reported down in Elyria in Lorain County and in other sections of the county.

    9:25 p.m. - One tree down in Twinsburg Township in Summit County.

    9:25 p.m.-- Police in Newburgh Heights close Canal Road between Stone Road and Warner Road due to hight water.

    9:15 p.m. - One tree reported down in Northfield in Summit County.

    9:12 p.m. - Severe thunderstorms warnings for Erie, Huron, Lorain until 10:15 p.m. This storm was 6 miles north of Wakeman and moving east at 30 m.p.h.

    9:00 p.m. - Hail estimated at 3/4 inches was reported in North Royaltonl in Cuyahoga County.

    9:00 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Cuyahoga, Medina, Portage and Summit until 10 p.m. Heads up in Ravenna, Macedonia, Cuyahoga Falls, Twinsburg, Hudson and Streetsboro.

    8:55 p.m. - State Route 14 between State Route 59 and State Route 88 is currently closed due to down power lines. The road should reopen in three hours.

    8:23 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Coshocton County until 9:15 p.m. A severe storm is located 6 miles south of Cooperdale and moving northeast at 15 m.p.h.

    8:22 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake Counties until 9:15 p.m. This storm was located near Euclid and moving east at 30 m.p.h.

    7:51 p.m. - Heavy storm in downtown Cleveland with high winds, heavy rains and very frequent lightning.

    7:47 p.m. - FirstEnergy on its website is reporting more than 50,000 customers without power. Cuyahoga and Lorain are among the hardest hit counties.

    7:41 p.m. - Heavy thunderstorms moving onshore from Cleveland to Avon Point.

    7:08 p.m. - The National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a thunderstorm producing strong winds 34 knots or greater over Lorain Harbor. It's moving east at 40 knots and other thunderstorms may develop. Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Avon Point, Cleveland, Fairport Harbor and Ashtabula.

    6:55 p.m.- A severe thunderstorm was detected 6 miles northwest of Dillon State Park and was moving east at 25 mph. This storm is capable of produccing hail up to the size of a half dollar and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. The locations impacted are Dillon State Park, Cooperdale, Adamsville, Conesville, Ferncliff, Coshocton, Otsego, West Lafayette, Boden, Plainfield, Kimbolton and Newcomerstown

    6:07 p.m. - A Severe thunderstorm is now in effect for Carroll and Columbiana Counties until 7 p.m. Lisbon, East Palestine, and Beaver Creek State Park will be getting this storm.

    6:04 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warning for Coshocton County until 7 p.m. A severe storm was near Cooperdale and moving east at 25 m.p.h.

    5:50 p.m. - Many trees and powerlines knocked down in Beaver Township and New Springfield area southwests of New Middletown in Mahoning County.

    5:43 p.m - Severe thunderstorm warning for Mahoning County until 6:30 p.m. Storms stretch from Campbell to Boardman to Sebring.

    5:30 p.m - Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Tuscarawas County until 6:30 p.m.

    5:23 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings in effect for Carroll and Columbiana County until 6:15 p.m. Bolivar, Slame, Malvern, Dover and Mineral City are some of the cities in the path of these storms.

    5:15 p.m. - Estimate 3/4 inch hail in Hartville in Stark County by NWS trained spotter.

    5:10 p.m. Twenty trees damaged, some snapped in half, some topped and some a few uprooted just northeast of Canton in Stark County. Some of the damage was in Crystal Park.

    5:06 p.m. - Numerous healthy maple trees down, snapped 3 feet up and some on garbage cans and powerlines about 5 miles northwest of Warren in Trumbull County.

    5:05 p.m. - 1 inch hail reported in Wooster in Wayne County.

    5:00 p.m. - All lanes on I-480 westbound are now reopened after an ODOT sign blew down during the storms blocking several lanes.

    5:00 p.m. - Around 15 trees knocked down in Youngstown in Mahoning County.

    4:57 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warning for Holmes County until 6 p.m. including for Berlin, Walnut Creek, Farmerstown and Winesburg.

    4:55 p.m. - Many trees and some utility poles knocked down in Kinsman in Trumbull County.

    4:53 p.m. - Multiple trees down on East State Street in Newcomerstown in Tuscarawas County.

    4:52 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Coshocton and Tuscarawas Counties until 5:30 p.m. Watch out in Coshocton, Newcomerstown, and West Lafayette.

    4:46 p.m. - Multiple lanes of I-480 westbound over the Valley View bridge are blocked by a downed ODOT sign.

    4:45 p.m. - Multiple trees down at Mulberry and 4th Street in Coshocton.

    4:45 p.m - About 1,500 customers without power in both Twinsburg and South Russell according to FirstEnergy. Other scattered outages reported throughout the area.

    4:45 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings for Knox and Morrow Counties until 5:30 p.m. Watch out in Mount Vernon, Centersburg, Sparta, Chesterville, Fredericktown and Danville. Quarter size hail and winds in excess of

    4:42 p.m. - Severe thunderstorms warnings for Mahoning, Portage, Summit and Trumbull Counties until 5:45 p.m. Ravenna, Warren, Youngstown, Sebring, Newton Falls and Lordstown will be affected by this storm.

    4:40 p.m. - Estimated 1 inch hail in Conesville in Coshocton County by a trainer NWS spotter.

    4:35 p.m. - 3/4 inch hail reported in Atwater in Portage County by a trained spotter.

    4:33 p.m. - Severe thunderstorms warnings for Ashland and Richland counties until 5:30 p.m. Heads up in Ashland, Loudonville, Savannah and Polk.

    4:31 p.m. - 2 foot diamater tree blown over in Solon in Cuyahoga County.

    4:30 p.m. - Trees and powerflines down across Mahoning County.

    4:25 p.m. - A pine tree snapped along with numerous limbs/branches down in Valley City in Medina County.

    4:20 p.m. - Numerous trees, powerlines and large limbs reported down across Ashtabula County.

    4:20 p.m. - A few large limbs knocked down in Chesterland in Geauga County.

    4:13 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings for Ashtabula, Geauga and Lake County until 5:15 p.m.... The cities of Ashtabula, Jefferson, Geneva, Orwell, Conneaut, Andover.

    4:08 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings for Medina and Summit County until 5:15 p.m. Macedonia, Hudson and Twinsburg are in the path of this storm.

    4:00 p.m. - Large tree reported on a house in Lakewood on Clifton Blvd.

    3:57 p.m. - Powerlines reported down with estimated one inch hail in Lakemore in Summit County.

    3:54 p.m. - Severe thunderstorms warnings for Mahoning and Trumbull counties through 4:45 p.m. Youngstown, Boardman, Campbell and Hubbard will all be feeling the effects of the storms.

    3:52 p.m. - An estimated wind gust between 60 and 70 m.p.h. occurred in Westlake in Cuyahoga County.

    3:52 p.m. - A wind gust of 58 m.p.h. was recorded the National Weather service office at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.

    3:50 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings for Stark County until 4:30 p.m. A severe thunderstorms was near East Sparta and moving east at 30 m.p.h.

    3:48 p.m. - An estimated 65 m.p.h. wind gust was reported in Avon in Lorain County.

    3:48 p.m. - A 40 inch tree uprooted along Route 99 in Monroeville in Huron County.

    3:45 p.m. - Numerous 6 inch limbs down in Monroeville in Huron County.

    3:40 p.m. - Two 6 inch diameter tree branches reported down in Norwalk in Huron County by a trained weather spotter.

    3:40 p.m - One tree down along with many branches/limbs in Sheffield Lake in Lorain County.

    3:39 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings for Cuyahoga County. Affected areas include Strongsville, Cleveland, Westlake, Lakewood, Parma and North Royalton and Cleveland Heights through 4:45 p.m.

    3:39 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings for Portage, Stark and Summit until 4:45 p.m. Towns impacted include Ravenna, Mogadore, North Canton, Tallmadge, Hartville, Kent, Alliance.

    3:38 p.m. - A Severe Thunderstorm WATCH has been issued for the following counties until midnight for the entire Channel 3 viewing area including: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Ottawa, Portage, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, Wayne

    3:30 p.m. - Numerous trees and larger than 6 inch branches down along East River Road.

    3:23 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Erie, Huron and Lorain Counties as radar was showing some small hail, gusty winds and very heavy rains.

    3:05 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Carroll and Columbiana counties through 3:45 p.m. A severe storm was reported near Augusta and moving east at 30 m.p.h.
