You may have seen a strange looking vehicle on our Cleveland and Parma roads lately. It's in town to demonstrate a new way -- to solve an old problem.

WKYC Photojournalist Mike Greene brings us the story.

It happens every spring, or even sooner. Potholes appear, and crews arrive to fill them. But now, there's a new way to do it, and it can be done all year round.

It uses a patented water-based asphalt emulsion which is modified. It allows you to do it in subfreezing conditions.

That will actually last throughout the season and longer without having to return and do a repair when the weather permits.

Pothole Killers was demonstrating their product to Cleveland and Parma.

It's a one-man operation to clean, fill, and seal the pothole. They believe they can fill potholes a lot faster this way than you can manually, with better success.

It's a green operation, with the topcoat made from recycled car tires, and its non-volatile materials.

There are no wasted materials.

Without crews out on the road, it's a safer process. And, they say it's less expensive than fixing pothole the traditional way.
