The 2013 Ohio high school baseball season concluded about a month and a half ago with the crowning of four state champions at Huntington Park in Columbus.

As a nod to the season that was, would like to highlight the best players in Northeast Ohio. We're excited to unveil our American Family Insurance All-Northeast Ohio Baseball Team.

The 10 student-athletes listed below were selected by staff members as the best players in Northeast Ohio this season. Some of these names were on our preseason list, but others made the cut with stellar performances this spring.

Eric Lauer - Midview senior pitcher/infielder - first-team All-Ohio selection and The Plain Dealer's Baseball Player of the Year

Jake Czerwinski - Aurora senior pitcher/first baseman - honorable mention all-state selection helped the Greenmen claim first-ever regional title

Aaron Cain - Akron Archbishop Hoban senior outfielder - first-team all-state selection helped lead the Knights to the Division II state tournament

Nick Margevicius - St. Ignatius junior pitcher - compiled a 9-1 record with his lone loss coming in the Division I state title game

Griffin Weir - Amherst Steele senior pitcher - Stanford University signee earned honorable mention all-state recognition

DJ Wilson - Canton South sophomore outfielder - first-team all-state selection recently gave verbal commitment to Vanderbilt University

Wayne Naida - Lakewood senior catcher - second-team all-state honoree

Kade McClure - Mentor junior pitcher - University of Louisville verbal commit compiled a 7-1 record while maintaining a 0.62 ERA

JP Sorma - Independence senior shortstop - Ohio State signee maintained a batting average over .500 and tallied more than 25 RBIs in 2013

Gabe Snyder - Millersburg West Holmes senior pitcher/first baseman - Wright State signee earned first-team all-state recognition

Compiling a list of all-stars is a subjective task that often sparks debate. That is why, throughout the course of the past few weeks, we asked our social media followers to tell us the players they believed deserved recognition.
