PARMA -- Late Sunday afternoon, the city's fire department responded to a call of a deer trapped in a five-foot-deep trench.
Fire Capt. Mike Lasky stated that a retaining wall was recently built on the property of a South Park Drive home.
"We received the call about 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. We were able to put straps and ropes around the deer and pull it out of the trench, sliding it up a piece of wood planking that was on the scene," Lasky.
The deer was able to shake off the strap and ropes and ran into the woods where it was greeted by another deer and they ran off together, Lasky reports.
