Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Serena Williams continued her clay court dominance by rallying past former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic, 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 to win the title at the Family Circle Cup Sunday.

Williams, a day after beating her sister Venus in the semifinals, finished off her third championship at this tournament. She's won 22 consecutive clay court matches at WTA events at Fed Cup and 15 straight matches in Charleston. That includes titles in 2008 and last year.

The ninth-seeded Jankovic, who had won 14 of her previous 16 matches, was trying for her 14th career title. She won this tournament in 2007.

Williams, who gained the $125,000 first-place prize, captured her 49th career singles title and third this year. The American will hold onto the world No. 1 ranking.

During the first game of the second set, Serena delivered a verbal shot at Jankovic. The top seed was apparently upset that she wasn't ready to receive the serve from the Serbian.

Serena then won 12 of the final 14 games of the match. Jankovic, who fell to 4-6 all-time in matchups against Serena, saved a pair of match points. A backhand winner ended the encounter on the green clay.
