La Jolla, CA (Sports Network) - Thick fog remained over Torrey Pines all day Saturday and played was eventually suspended for the night at the Farmers Insurance Open.

The fog briefly lifted at one point so the first groups teed off both the first and 10th tees. The players on the first tee teed off, then walked off as the fog rolled back in.

The threesome on the 10th tee -- John Mallinger, Robert Garrigus and Hunter Mahan -- finished their hole. All three made par to remain at 3-under par.

The third round will resume Sunday morning at 10 a.m. (et). Despite the fact that 87 players made the cut, there will be no 54-hole cut, and players will remain in the same group for the final round.

Officials will get in as much golf as possible on Sunday, but a Monday finish is almost certain at this point.

Tiger Woods carded a 65 in Friday's second round to take a 2-stroke lead at 11-under-par 133. Woods has won this event six times, though it is only the second time he had the 36-hole lead at this tournament.

Billy Horschel used three late birdies on Friday to move into second place at minus-9.

Two-time heart transplant recipient Erik Compton (65) stands alongside Brad Fritsch (67), Steve Marino (68), Jimmy Walker (69), Casey Wittenberg (67) and Josh Teater (70) in third place at 8-under-par 136.

Charlie Wi (66) was joined in ninth place at minus-7 by John Senden (68), Tag Ridings (70), 2009 winner Nick Watney (68), Justin Hicks (70), Ross Fisher (71) and Luke Guthrie (69).

Phil Mickelson, a three-time winner of this tournament, made the cut on the number at minus-1 despite bogeys on his final two holes.
