The new front office team dispatched Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson to other NFL teams and brought in veteran quarterback in Jake Delhomme.
Now the Browns can assess the rest of the talent on the field since they have a quarterback who does not have to learn the position at the NFL level.
The real silver lining, however, is that there is no pressure on Colt McCoy. He will have the opportunity to learn the game before being pressed into service. Previously when the Browns have taken a QB from the college ranks they have been put into games before learning the position at the pro level.
