WINDSOR TOWNSHIP -- Two men are accused of shooting at a van transporting 10 Amish on Saturday, striking two of the passengers.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff's office says an Ashtabula County girl, 18, and Daniel Burkholder, 18, of Geauga County, were struck by bullets when Kenneth and Michael Jameson allegedly fired shots at a group in an Amish transport van they believed was trespassing but was actually looking to retrieve a radio.

The two teen victims were taken to the Geauga Medical Center then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center. Both remain in ICU but are expected to recover.

The driver and eight others in the van were not injured.

The Jamesons are in Ashtabula County Jail charged with four counts each of felonious assault and their bond was set at $250,000.

In a release, the Ashtabula County Sheriff noted that, in the state of Ohio, deadly force can be used only to prevent serious bodily harm or death and never solely to protect property.

They said if law enforcement and prosecutors determine that use of deadly force is not justified, criminal charges may be filed.
