TROY, Ohio -- A teenage boy who scrawled a threat on a restroom wall in a western Ohio school has been put on probation and ordered to complete counseling and community service.
The incident at Troy Junior High School was one a series of written threats at Miami County schools earlier this year that put parents, administrators and police on edge.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/133JMsz) reports that the boy, now 14, will not go to juvenile detention, despite prosecutors recommending that he spend the rest of the summer confined.
A Miami County judge in June found the teen a delinquent juvenile for committing a felony offense of inducing panic.
A defense attorney said the boy had limited cognitive ability and didn't understand the significance of what he was doing.
