ELYRIA, Ohio-- Fire officials say a fire has extensively damaged a foundry in northeast Ohio. Authorities say no injuries were reported.
Elyria fire Capt. Joseph Pronesti says the blaze at the 30-acre Elyria Foundry complex started around 9:30 p.m. Friday and took about six hours to bring under control.
Pronesti says the foundry produces industrial-size metal castings weighing more than 70,000 pounds. He says several buildings in the complex were damaged.
Officials have not determined what caused the fire and have not released a damage estimate. A recording at the company Saturday said its offices were closed.
The company's website says the foundry's products include castings used for plastic and rubber processing machinery, food processing equipment, printing and paper making machinery and oil and gas field equipment.
