FOSTORIA -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a child struck by a pick-up truck Thursday evening.
The 9-year-old reportedly darted into the road in front of a pick-up truck on Columbus Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
He was seriously injured. The boy was taken to Fostoria Hospital and then air-lifted to Toledo Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The pick-up truck driver was not injured.
The driver of the 2006 Dodge truck was driving southeast on Columbus Avenue when the little boy ran southwest across the street and was hit in the middle of the road.
Fostoria Police, Fire, and EMS responded and assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol Fremont Post with the investigation. Ohio State Highway Patrol reconstruction assisted at the scene and the crash remains under investigation.
Alcohol is believed to be involved in the crash and charges are pending.
