Kenneth Jameson and his son Michael are accused of opening fire on a van full of Amish late Saturday night.

Deputies say the Jamesons believed the van was trespassing, and they were protecting their property.

Two Amish teens were shot, both critically hurt, but are expected to survive.

Frightened neighbors would only speak to Channel 3 News anonymously.

Authorities want to make it clear that deadly force can only be used to prevent bodily harm, and not to protect property.

The Jamesons are charged with felony assault and are being held on a $250,000 bond.
