VERMILION, Ohio -- Vermilion Police discovered a driver who bought alcohol underage thanks to his noisy car Saturday night.
Police say an officer noticed a car that appeared to be speeding headed south on Brill Tansey Road at about 8:45 p.m. The car allegedly did not stop at the Jerusalem Road stop sign, turning left onto Jerusalem heading east.
The car started to speed up quickly, making the tires squeal and the car was noticeably loud.
The officer pulled the driver over and discovered fresh cans of beer in the vehicle. The driver admitted to buying the beer despite being under 21.
Police found the car had several defects, including loud exhaust.
The driver was charged and cited for running the stop sign, not wearing a seatbelt, squealing tires, damaged tail light, loud exhaust and purchasing alcohol under 21 years of age.
