According to doctors, Morgan Stock was not supposed to live past 3-years-old.

However Morgan continues to defy the odds and inspire the lives of those around her.

The recently elected Amherst Steele H.S. homecoming queen lives by the motto make everyday count.

Born with a rare genetic disease her mother Michele says everyday is a blessing.

"It's hard because we live day to day because of Morgan's disease," Michele explained.  "We thank God everyday she wakes up."

Which makes her recent crowning as Amherst's homecoming queen all the more special.

"I felt like a princess," Morgan recalled. "It felt great." "It was amazing you know of course it's always a girls dream," said Michele.

"We know we're not going to ever get to see her walk down the aisle and do things like that so that was kind of our moment."

Morgan's childhood friend Alexis started the campaign to get her elected homecoming queen on social media and the support from Amherst students was overwhelming.

"I had chills all down my body I was crying just by her name being announced on homecoming court," said Alexis Arendt.

"I break down and cry because I don't know how she does it as many times as she's been poked and prodded and put through x-ray machines and I don't know how she keeps it all together."

Despite new challenges on the horizon with the recent loss of her vision, Morgan continues to dream big. When asked what her next big goal was, Morgan exclaimed loudly, "Graduate!"

The story was brought to Ch.3's attention by Sam Kamnikar who did the following story for Steele News Live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0mT01qRlPw&sns=em
