RAVENNA -- The Portage County APL is asking for the public's help to find those responsible for torturing and killing a pit bull.
Police called the APL last night after finding the dog dead in an empty lot behind a club on Chestnut and Hazen Road.
The dog, named Mercy by the APL, had been strangled and dragged behind a vehicle. Mercy was found with a cable TV wire embedded in her neck and extra cable wrapped all around her. A rope was found lodged in her mouth.
The APL says the dog was then dumped like trash in the empty lot.
Anyone with information about the dog and who may have abused and killed her are asked to call
Portage APL at 330.296.4022 ext 102.
