CLEVELAND -- Businessman Ken Lanci will officially announce next Monday that he is challenging Mayor Frank Jackson to be Cleveland mayor.
Lanci is the owner of Consolidated Graphics Group, Inc. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Cuyahoga County Executive.
Jackson is running for his third term. He has said he will seek reelection to make sure the Cleveland schools transformation plan is implemented.
He has not "officially" kicked off his campign.
Lanci is expected to challenge the mayor, claiming the city's leader needs to be more focused on bringing new jobs and businesses here and bring a bigger, more collaborative vision to the region's problems.
