CLEVELAND -- City Ward 2 Councilman Zack Reed is expected to appear in Cleveland Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday,
Read, 52, was released from Cleveland City Jail early Tuesday afternoon after paying $295 of his $2,500 bond.
Reed was released following an arrest in Cleveland early Tuesday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
According to police, Reed has been charged with OVI, non-working light, turning position and change of course.
A police statement says Reed was arrested in downtown Cleveland and the corner of East Ninth Street and Rockwell Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after running a red light and making an improper turn.
Police say he failed a field sobriety test. Reed served a 10-day sentence in 2008 on his second drunken-driving conviction. The 52-year-old Reed has served on the council for 13 years.
