AKRON -- The jury and the alternate jurors in the Jimmy Dimora county corruption trial were called at sunrise Friday and told not to report to court.

They have been told to come in on Monday morning.

Court got underway early Friday morning with attorneys for both sides present to discuss a defense motion to have federal prosecutors turn over more alleged evidence said to relate to the computers belonging to prosecution witness Steve Pumper.

Jimmy Dimora's attorneys Andrea and Bill Whitaker filed the motion at 8:22 a.m. Friday, and their forensic expert Damon S. Hacker, CEO of Vestige Digital Investigations in Medina, testified mid-morning that there may be more information available.

The court took a break at 10:30 a.m. and U.S. District Court Judge Sara Lioi said that there were also "..other matters to discuss, as well as exhibits that need to be reviewed..."

The Dimora defense has not rested its case. Attorneys for co-defendant Michael Gabor have yet to begin to begin their defense.

Dimora, 56, of Independence, is facing 36 charges, including bribery, conspiracy and racketeering.

Gabor, 52, of Parma, is charged with seven counts, including bribery and conspiracy. Both have pleaded not guilty.

The trial is now in its seventh week.
