CLEVELAND -- Former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora now faces 34 federal charges, up from the 28 charges he faced just a few months ago.

But a few lines in a federal prosecutor's opposition brief relating to a different subject hints that Dimora could face even more charges.

Dimora, of Independence, pleaded not guilty to all 34 charges Wednesday.

But Dimora was also asking U.S. District Court Judge Sara Lioi to allow him to socialize with some Cuyahoga County employees, as he is currently prohibited from socializing with any employees, among other restrictions.

Lioi denied his request.

And in her written opposition to Dimora's request, Assistant U.S. Attorney Antoinette Bacon wrote that Dimora already faces two decades in prison, more if prosecutors pursue additional charges.

"...The government continues to investigate several uncharged schemes involving defendant Dimora...government is contemplating seeking additional charges (in a separate indictment(s)) against defendant Dimora related to these schemes."
