Cuyahoga County corruption: Skuhrovec pleads guilty

Skuhrovec, 62, of Independence, a friend of former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Sara lioi  to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and making false statements to the FBI in connection with the probe into county corruption.

He also entered into a plea agreement that has not been made public. Lioi has not yet scheduled his sentencing.

Skuhrovec also worked as an appraiser in former Cuyahoga County Sheriff Gerald McFaul's office.

Federal prosectors said Skuhrovec lied to investigators when he said he never hosted a fundraiser for Russo's brother, Cuyahoga County Probate Judge Anthony Russo.

Anthony Russo has not been charged.

Skuhrovec was originally charged Sept. 15.
