MAYFIELD HEIGHTS -- The American Red Cross Northern Ohio Blood Services Region is holding its largest, one-day, one-site blood drive in Northern Ohio at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. TODAY.
It's the 15th Annual 'Give From the Heart Blood Drive.'
While appointments are preferred, walk-in donors will also be accepted. You still have until 7 p.m. to make the drive over to Landerhaven, at 6111 Landerhaven Drive in Mayfield Heights.
All who come to donate will enjoy gourmet food compliments of Executive Caterers and will receive a "goodie bag" filled with great gifts.
The event is sponsored by WTAM 1100, WELW 1330, Hillcrest Hospital: a Cleveland Clinic hospital, Lake Health, Kaiser Permanente, MetroHealth Medical Center and University Hospitals.
- All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients.
- A blood donor card or driver's license, or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
- Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
- High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
