ENON, Ohio -- Fire officials say a bomb squad was called to detonate a suspicious box found in a parking lot at the western Ohio headquarters of the Speedway gas station chain, briefly closing part of a major highway nearby.
Speedway tells the Springfield News-Sun that employees from the office northeast of Dayton called authorities about the package, which was described as a square box covered in tape.
It wasn't clear whether anything was inside the box. Authorities say nearby buildings with hundreds of workers were locked down while a bomb squad examined and detonated the package.
No injuries were reported.
Officials briefly closed part of Interstate 70 during the incident. Evidence from the scene was expected to be analyzed by the state fire marshal's office, which is further investigating the package.
