Since we met her last April, Georgene's lost 30 pounds and got both her diabetes and blood pressure in check.
She's proud of the fact that she only gained three pounds over the holidays. Despite the occasional splurge, she stuck to her healthy eating plans and planned ahead.
That's the secret for her. She plans out her weekly meals, brings her homecooked meals to work for lunch, and keeps her workout clothes in the trunk of her car to go straight to the gym after work.
She's joined a gym and walks on the treadmill but she had a surprise for Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins.
Georgene is now running two minutes at a time and plans to run the Komen for the Cure "Race for the Cure" on Sept. 10 non-stop.
Her training involves doing intervals on the treadmill and she'll add 10 to 15 seconds to her running time each week or she'll up the speed for a few minutes.
