COLUMBUS -- Common Core opponents were speaking out in Columbus Wednesday.
An effort to repeal Common Core math and English standards in Ohio is in full force today at a hearing with the Ohio House Education Committee.
Supporters and opponents showed up at 3 p.m., and the committee room was packed.
The debate across the country is growing over Common Core, with critics claiming it's the government taking too much control of the schools, while supporters say it will better prepare students for college and the workforce.
Business leaders also appeared at the hearing today, to voice their support for Common Core.
