  • National Make a Difference Day is Oct. 26, and WKYC is inviting you to join us in helping to make Northeast Ohio a better place to live.

This national day of volunteering takes place on Saturday, Oct. 26. WKYC is working with the Cleveland Metroparks and BVU: Center for Nonprofit Excellence to create 1,000 volunteer opportunities throughout the Metroparks.

WKYC director of advocacy Rita Andolsen encourages everyone to get involved.

"Most of us spend time enjoying the beauty of the Metroparks. Make a Difference Day gives all of us the chance to come together as a community and give back," she said.

If you'd like to join us on Make a Difference Day, click here for registration details.

Viewers who register to volunteer will be entered into a drawing and could win a WKYC behind-the-scenes tour, a meet-and-greet with anchors Russ Mitchell and Kris Pickel, a WKYC bus stop forecast or four box seats to watch the Indians. So come on out and join us in making a difference.
