AKRON -- A mother and her two young sons face charges after an alleged attack Monday afternoon.
Police say it started around 6:30 p.m. when an 11-year-old boy began arguing with two Akron brothers who were playing their guitars in the alley behind 943 Kenmore Boulevard.
Moments later, police say a vehicle pulled into the alley from which came the 11-year-old boy's mother and her other son, 15.
The 15-year-old boy allegedly picked up his younger brother's bicycle and struck the two victims.
The mother, 31, reportedly had a metal pressure gauge in her hand, which she's accused of using to strike one of the victims in the face.
One of the victims suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to Akron General Medical Center for treatment.
The victims are ages 22 and 18.
Police arrested the mother, identified as Deanna J. Hillyer of Kentucky Avenue, on charges of felonious assault and disorderly conduct.
Her 11-year-old son was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. The 15-year-old boy was charged with felonious assault and disorderly conduct.
