CLEVELAND -- The FBI has released the mugshots of 12 people still being sought in connection with the bust of a heroin ring.
Operation Fox Hound has been recorded as the single biggest heroin takedown in Northeast Ohio. Authorities say the operation shut down a supply of heroin from Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta and elsewhere headed directly to Cleveland.
The ring involved nearly 100 people. Sixty have been indicted in federal court and another 33 indicted in Cuyahoga County.
Operation Fox Hound caps a two year investigation at the local, state and federal level. Part of the ring had those allegedly involved stealing drugs and money from each other.
Heroin claims twice as many lives in Cuyahoga County than shootings.
To date, 80 suspects are in custody.
