Bay Village: Driver charged after police pursuit

BAY VILLAGE -- Police arrest two men at a Bates Drive home after police pursuit where driver ran a red light, then tried to escape police.

About 12: 28 a.m. Friday, a Bay Village Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop for a vehicle that failed to stop for a red light at the Bradley and Wolf intersection.

The driver continued without stopping, with the vehicle's lights off, and then pulled into a driveway on Bates Drive.

The driver and a passenger, 25 and 24, respectively, jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the house.

A second passenger stayed in the car. The second passenger was released at the scene.

The two men who ran into the house were arrested.

The first passenger was charged with obstructing official business.

The driver, who threatened police officers and was uncooperative, was charged with OVI, reckless operation, obstructing official business and menacing.

They were both set to appear on Rocky River Municipal Court.
