MILAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A Norwalk woman was killed in a crash on the Ohio Turnpike in Milan Township Saturday evening, highway patrol says.
Kimala Lowry, 53, was headed east on the turnpike near the U.S. 250 overpass when she lost control of her vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday.
Her car went off the right side of the road, striking the end of a guardrail with the driver's side door. The car went down an embankment and landed in a ditch.
Lowry was taken to Fisher Titus Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. She was wearing her seatbelt.
Her passenger, Scott Dunn, 48, of Norwalk, suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital. He was also wearing his seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation. It is not clear if any illicit substances were a factor in the crash.
