SOLON -- A King Nut Company representative came to the police station July 16 to report that a shipment containing $79,083.52 worth of miscellaneous nuts had been picked up from the Solon Road Company on July 15 and was to be delivered to a destination in Illinois.
According to the representative, the shipment had been picked up by a Mentor man, 55, who works for the Marko IL Company.
The product never arrived at its scheduled destination, the representative told police.
Police said investigation revealed that the employee of Marko IL company felt that he was not being paid properly so he refused to make the delivery.
Eventually, the entire shipment was delivered to the proper location, police said.
King Nut declined to press charges against the driver.
