  • Report: Cedar Point ride malfunctions, multiple injuries
  • A popular water ride at Cedar Point remains closed after a malfunction left 7 people injured.

It happened Friday, the same day a woman in Texas fell off a roller coaster and was killed at Six Flags.

At cedar point, the Shoot the Rapids passenger car rolled back down the lift hill and flipped over with several people inside.

Six were treated at Cedar Point's First Aid Station. One person was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.

This also comes as Six Flags in Texas is investigating how a woman fell from a 14-story high roller coaster after she told workers there that her lap bar felt loose.

But Texas State Insurance Inspectors say Six Flags was in compliance with all safety regulations.

"It's just a freak accident. It doesn't happen often, and I don't think it will happen to us," says Whitney Bastedo, who drove in from Syracuse to visit Cedar Point.

Some park-goers trust Cedar Point will be even more cautious following the incidents.

Others are wondering if there's an Achilles heel in every thrill.

"I said, no rides for me. Not after all this happened," says Marissa Stacks.

Cedar Point would not release any more details about the incident.

Cedar Point Officials and the Amusement Ride Safety Division for the state of Ohio are investigating.

Shoot the Rapids is still closed until this investigation is complete.
