COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio officials are expected to release the state's unemployment rate for June on Friday, along with the newest statewide labor force data.

The seasonally adjusted rate hasn't changed much since the beginning of the year. It was a 7 percent rate then, as it was in May.

The state's unemployment rate fell slightly to 7 percent in April after being stuck at 7.1 percent the two previous months.

Ohio's rate has consistently remained below the nation's rate, which was 7.6 percent last month.

The state unemployment rate peaked at 10.6 percent during the last half of 2009 and early 2010 before beginning its trek downward.

January marked the first time the rate failed to decline or at least remain steady since July 2011.
