SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP -- The U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies have suspended the search for the missing 13-year-old boy in Lake Erie.
The Coast Guard said it will issue an official statement later tonight.
The search began about 9 p.m. Friday after the group that he was with at the Saybrook Township Park noticed that he wasn't with them.
Aircraft from North Carolina and a helicopter from Michigan also aided in the search.
The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department was firs t on the scene Friday. The Coast Guard received a call about 9 p.m. Friday night that the boy was missing in Lake Erie.
Apparently the teen was swimming with some people, they got out of the water and then noticed he was missing.
Several police, fire and rescue agencies were sent to Saybrook Park, including a dive team.
