PORT OF CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Tall Ships Festival 2013 is underway for the July 4 weekend. Ten or 12 replica ships will dock at the Port of Cleveland for four days.
The festival is presented by The Rotary Club of Cleveland.

It all started with the Parade of Sail on July 3 at Voinovich Park in the Cleveland Harbor.
The Festival, beginning July 4, 2013 will take place at the Port of Cleveland, behind FirstEnergy Stadium: Home of the Cleveland Browns.
Friday, July 5 is Port of Cleveland Day and all Military service men and women in uniform will be allowed into the site "free of charge" or with a military I.D.

Discount tickets may be purchased at Discount Drug Mart or Petitti Garden Center. Tickets can also be purchased on-site at the Port of Cleveland beginning 9:30 a.m., July 4-7. Gates open: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ship boarding: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The festival will showcase the diverse Great Lakes maritime history, spotlighting environmental themes while promoting youth leadership through sail training.
Visitors can board the vessels, meet the crew and experience the heritage these ships symbolize.
Cleveland welcomes the Great Lakes United Tall Ships Challenge, a series of port-to-port international sailing races, cruises and maritime festivals starting in Toronto and ending in Chicago.
