CLEVELAND -- The Carter Road lift bridge is closed to both river and vehicular traffic most of the day Friday as crews replace a broken cable.
According to city officials, the bridge will be blocked between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
For traffic heading northbound, the suggested detour is along Carter Road to Columbus Road. At Columbus Road, motorists can follow posted signs to the current Columbus Road bridge detour route.
For traffic heading southbound, drivers will be detoured onto Center Street where they will follow the current Columbus Road Bridge detour.
The current Columbus Road Bridge detour is as follows: West on Center Street to south on Main Avenue to southeast on W. 25th Street to north on Gehring Street to east on Abby Avenue to Columbus Road.
Northbound detour will be as follows: West on Abbey Road to south on Gehring Street to northwest on W. 25th Street to north on Main Avenue to East on Center Street to Columbus Road.
