CLEVELAND -- On land and on water, people are bundling up as they prepare for Memorial Day weekend.
With temperatures hovering in the 40 degree range, it's not the normal start to summer, even for Cleveland.
At the Great American Rib Cook-off, several dozen people turned out for Friday night's music and food fest.
Dan Johnson, of Colonel Johnson's Bar-B-Que, has a special ingredient he says will warm anyone up.
His sauce is called Johnson's Thermo-Nuclear, and it is incredibly hot!
"It'll put pep in your step, a move in your groove!" Johnson said.
Down on Lake Erie, winds kicked up waves, as boaters prepped their vessels for the first big day on the water.
At Whiskey Island Marina, half the boats are back in slips.
The marina had to rebuild all the docks, after Superstorm Sandy destroyed them last fall.
"This weekend the marina will be open, and I think everyone will be happy just to be back on the water," said manager Tom Lawson.
The US Coast Guard advises boaters, especially in small vessels, to use caution on Lake Erie this weekend.
Water temperature is in the low 60s.
