CLEVELAND --  Some main downtown city streets were closed to commuter traffic this morning as the crew for Captain America: The Winter Soldier filmed a chase scene.

In the scene, a black SUV driven by Samuel L. Jackson's character Nick Fury is being chased by police cars.

The chase was filmed multiple times on Euclid near E. 9th.

The new street closures, which are expected to last through Saturday-created a bit of gridlock for workers trying to get into the downtown business district.  But for many workers, the scenes being filmed on Euclid today provided a great break from the work day.

Captain America 2 crews will be in town through June filming sequences.  See a full list of anticipated road closures below.

There was no such thing as a normal Friday for downtown workers.

"Ever since everyone walked in the door, they've been planted in this office because it has the best view," said Jackie Lissner, who works downtown.

Is all the activity outside good for business? Not necessarily, but you can't beat the buzz downtown.

"While you've been interviewing me, people have been walking by eating bagels, it seems like it's not the most productive day," said Terry Coyne.

"Lunch is not as busy as it usually is, however Cleveland's a community. And it's a little bit of a give and take. How great is it to have Cleveland on the map? To have a movie shot right outside your restaurant door," said Seth Bromberg, owner of the District restaurant on East 14th.

"There's a huge buzz right now. People want to see if there's movie stars around the corner or if they're in the restaurant themselves or maybe they even want to be an extra," he said.

The film stars Chris Evans as Captain America.  So far, Samuel L. Jackson has been the main Hollywood star spotted in Cleveland.
