Radio voice of the Browns, Jim Donovan, says Barkevious Mingo out of LSU was the team's choice all along in the first round.
Although the Browns were attempting to work a deal, when their pick at the number six slot came up and Mingo was still on the board, they moved to draft him. The Browns say he will fill the need the team has for a pass rusher.
Mingo and the Browns had seemed to be a good fit from the start, according to Donovan, especially after a visit here in Cleveland. Mingo says he fell in love with the city when he visited.
As for his unique name, well there's a story there too that Donovan told viewers about on the 11 p.m. news. Originally intendend to be called Kevious, his mother wanted to have a share in the name since she after all gave birth. Her name was Barbara and she tacked on the first three letters of her name and there you have it: Barkevious. His nickname is Ke-Ke. Pronounced key-key.
Following the whirlwind selection, Mingo talked to the press in New York about what he can bring to the Browns.
