CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Municipal Court spokesman says Cleveland City Councilman Zack Reed's next court appearance on his DUI charge will be 10 a.m. April 12.
That's when retired Willoughby Municipal Court Judge Larry Allen will preside. Allen, 74, was appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court after all of the Cleveland Municipal Court judges recused themselves from hearing Reed's case. City Council sets the budget for the court and it could be perceived as improper.
Reed, 51, was stopped just before 2 a.m. March 5 near East Ninth Street and Rockwell Avenue on suspicion of drunken driving. He has pleaded not guilty.
