CHARDON -- Chardon is observing the 1-year mark since a shooting with a day of service.
Students will be working on projects to help various organizations on a day designed to give back to the community as the lives of the three classmates who died are remembered.
Adam Benjamin, a senior class leader at Chardon High School say students can count on the close-knit, supportive community as the town marks the events of Feb. 27, 2012.
A memorial walk, vigil and community concert are also among events planned in Chardon.
Three other students were injured in the shootings.
The teen responsible for the shootings, T.J. Lane pleaded guilty in court yesterday to all charges. He faces sentencing on March 19.
