MEDINA -- Medina City Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Stepp said Claggett Middle School was on lockdown Monday morning after a lone bullet was found in a hallway.

The bullet, determined by police to be .22 caliber, caused the school to be placed in lockdown while police officers and school officials searched the school.

The bullet was found as some students were on buses for a field trip. They were taken off the buses, searched, then allowed to go on their field trip.

No other bullets or a gun were found.

The student who brought in the bullet has not been identified, Stepp said, but when identified, will face disciplinary consequences.

Stepp asked all parents to talk with their children about how dangerous bringing such things to school is.
