Giant Eagle has announced it is ending the program that offers free antibiotic and diabetes medications.
According to a Friday company release, Giant Eagle moved those prescriptions to its list of $4 and $10 drugs, Giant Eagle spokesman Dan Donovan said.
"While these medications are no longer free of charge, customers with qualifying prescriptions continue to save more than 50 percent when compared to many chain drug retailer prices," the company release read.
It added that, in October, Giant Eagle pharmacies started providing certain prenatal vitamins to expectant mothers for free with a valid prescription and that program will continue.
Giant Eagle customers will still be able to get 25 cents in fuelperks for every five qualifying prescriptions through March.
